We had to get up super early on Saturday, April 18, to leave to Cal State Fullerton to perform at Heritage Festival. When we got there, it was hella hectic. Tons and tons of moving around. I watched Jazz Band, Women's classical and jazz ensemble, Wind Ensemble, and Concert Strings.
Later on in the day, Ava and I walked to Quizno's and bought food 8] Hahah. When we got on the bus, we went straight to Disneyland for the award ceremony. We thought we were hella late, but turns out that we were the first school there. We ended up having to wait an hour before the ceremonies started because of the fireworks, so I ended up playing Gigolo and Lil Sally Walker with some of Women's Ensemble. Man, other schools were hella hating on us having fun.
After the fireworks was the awards ceremony, and oh fuck, did we fuckin run this shit AGAIN. Everyone was fuckin' hating like lil bitches. Don't underestimate San Diego. Shit, we'll come back again and own you. We were under the 3A classification, and these are the awards we received:
Chamber Strings: 1st place GOLD (with a score of 98 out of 100)
Concert Strings: 2nd place GOLD (with a score of 94 out of 100)
Symphony Orchestra: GOLD
Wind Ensemble: 3rd place SILVER
Jazz Band: GOLD
Jazz Women's Ensemble: GOLD
Classical Women's Ensemble: GOLD
But I can't forget about mentioning the five out of about ten people who were from SCPA who received a Maestro award. Congrats to Roach, Sarah, Alex Heath, Julian, and JMB! Holla holla holla! OH, and the adjudicators award(s?) that we won. AND lastly, the sweepstakes award we won for having more than 2 groups in instrumental and choral competition that scored high. Holla holla holla!
Ya'll bitches ain't got nothin on us. CAUSE WE RUN THIS SHIT.
THESE AREN'T ALL OF THE AWARDS WE GOT, ALRIGHT?
