Patrick and Kimberly (The Proposal) from Shutter Life Productions on Vimeo.
Before I head to sleep in a couple minutes, I just wanted to share this video. I love weddings in all their entirety and I'm ending my weekend on such an incredible note. Thoughts on this proposal? I just can't even. Prepare yourself for tears, and lots of it.

Can't Beat LA
After finishing my paper last night, I decided to let myself have a break and DIY stud my shorts. They took me about four hours to complete while watching the Lakers beat the Nuggets in Game 1. Congrats to Andrew Bynum for his triple double this afternoon!
Anyway, here are a few pictures of my shorts, before and after. :)
I was inspired by handmade studded and dyed high waisted shorts, but I still can't seem to find any kind of justification to spend more than $20 on materials, let alone $40-$60 on a pair of shorts. I do have to commend all the ladies who do create such masterpieces though!

The process and evolution of the first draft of my AAS 201 term paper.
My term paper (due Monday) is a cumulative essay of everything I learned this semester in my Race, Racism, and Critical Thinking class. The prompt is found in the first picture in the left most document.

Prom Regrets
In high school, I only attended my senior prom. This was partly due to the fact that my school was so small and prom wasn't that big of an event. I'll probably share some photos after this weekend (and essay) wears out, but if I could do anything different, I probably would've:
- not have cared too much about the theme
- worn a bolder, different dress. I wish I took more risks
- had my makeup done by MAC or Sephora instead of the people at Marinello
- pregamed it or something. Prom was so boring.

Shopping
So I've willingly given my entire life to Jon. Lol no jk. I let him change the password on both my facebook and tumblr for the time being. Granted, this is for a very great cause: I need to finish a 6-12 page term paper and a parable essay, both of which are due next week. So instead of making my nightly rounds on tumblr and facebook, I'm blogging :)
Today was pretty good. I chilled in the morning and made myself a nice breakfast. I made an egg over easy served over dry whole grain toast with a thin slice of low-sodium turkey breast. On another slice of toast, I let myself have about a tablespoon (and a little more) of this generic "Goobers" strawberry/peanut butter spread. it was great. I still decided to attend class despite my lack of interest and dropped off my application at Jamba Juice. I'm still a little bit butthurt about not getting hired at Starbucks (also partly because I dropped by yesterday morning for a little morning boost and was in there for like 10 minutes for a skinny caffe mocha). I also did manage to try the Southwestern Chicken Chorizo breakfast wrap. It was delicious and totally DIY-able.
I picked up Jon right after and we went thrifting at a local Salvation Army. For the good thirty minutes that we were in there, I was able to pick up a pair of dark gray trousers, rust orange (kinda) palazzo-inspired pants, light washed jeans to cut into high waisted shorts, and two vintage sweaters from the men's section—one for me and one for Jon. Our time there was cut short though because we had to pick up Julie Anne.
When we got home, since it was dry and not raining—but still gloomy—Jon and I went for a jog. Oh, I didn't mention? We're training for a 5k. Well, maybe not, but, we like to follow schedule :) We came home to a dose of New Girl and a fresh pot of sinigang.
I wish I had pictures of today, but here are a couple of the banana-nutella wontons I made the past couple days. They really go fast!

The batch in the second picture I'd made yesterday. They were perfect, even despite a light dusting of powdered sugar. Unlike the first photoset, I was smarter about the amount of filling and the distribution of making the wontons, and also, I mashed the bananas for a more consistent filling.

Just a little mind boggling
So I'm taking a small break before I return to drafting—well, more like writing—my final term paper for my Asian American Studies class. Today, I was rejected from the umpteenth job. I'm bummed for several reasons, simply because it closes a lot of doors less than they open new ones. But it's difficult for me because I am still choosing not accept such. I want not to deny my future in graphic design when I know it's too much for me to put myself out there and ask my parents so much to send me to Art Center College of Design. At the same time, I won't accept defeat when it comes to potentially attending Loma Linda University. I want to stay away from that hot desert...as far as possible.
Something to maybe keep in mind is the Academy of Art in San Francisco. I'm (sorta kinda) guaranteed a job in retail from help from a friend...all of which sounds great in theory, considering I'd probably live in Daly City with my aunt and not have to worry about anything, sorta. Maybe I'll look into it. But I also haven't told Jon about this yet.

Before I go to sleep, I just wanna jot some thoughts down.
I had a wonderful day today. Besides waking up incredibly early to drive to Loma Linda, I enjoyed the boring sermon with my mom and sister. Speeding to and from Northridge is always fun; passing my dream school was also quite the treat. I saw that in Pasadena, they're working on a metro system via railroad? I don't know how else to explain it but it's like the BART in San Francisco, but only in Pasadena. Even more of a reason why I'd love to be in Pasadena. But anyway...
Jon's blood pressure hasn't been up to par as of late. I want to encourage him to become more active like he used to be, but perhaps in a different way. I proposed to him the idea of training for a 5k, this way, we both have something to work towards. The thought of training together excites me simply for the fact that we'll be encouraging each other along the way. We'll see what he thinks of it in the morning though.
xo
PS, I love what Blogger has done to the place! I totally appreciate this location feature. I didn't think of adding my location in the past but come to think of it, tracking where I blog could be greatly appreciated in the future.

Home. I don’t know where it is. There are days when my “home” is in Eastlake, sometimes Northridge, but then there are days where I don’t know where my home is—days when I feel lost. Especially when I feel disconnected from my family or Jon, I literally lay in bed and try to picture being with them—because home is where the your heart is, right? But then there are days when I can’t handle anything and I imagine my little house that I lived in for 17 years in Paradise Hills. I close my eyes and think about sitting on the pavement, the stairs, the floor of my old room with my back against my bed; the feeling of the roof shingles on my feet; seeing orange, pink, and purple sunsets next to the canyon. Sometimes, I picture myself going back to that place. But I know I can’t. I know that if I were to, it also wouldn’t feel like home to me. It would just feel like a faded memory that needs to be moved on from.
