- I haven't used my physical notebook in probably more than a month
- I want to make and eat macaroni/tofu soup <3
- Jon has been depriving me of pho for more than 10 days :'(
- I want it to rain so I have a reason to have pho
- I would love to have time and patience to look for an amazing dress for Kayla for her upcoming dance, but there's just not enough time this week
- I only lost 0.5 lbs since I started working out two weeks ago
- Slow and steady wins the race
- Consistency
- Tumblr has a new layout ish and I can dig it
- I took a great nap at Jon's house so now I can't sleep
- Well I will after this
- Jon's nephew, Elijah, was born last night. It's such an amazing feeling to hear about someone giving birth to a brand new life.
- Max has gotten a ton better since his rattlesnake incident
- I should go to sleep now.

When it rains, it pours
No really. It does.
The day after Valentine's day, it poured like crazy. I went to class in faux suede boots expecting it to stay dry until around noontime, about an hour and a half after I would return home from class. Well guess what. I was wrong and walking to my car in a decent drizzle for a few good minutes. Ugh gross.
Just some highlights of my week with a few pictures today :)
On Wednesday (the day that it rained), I watched the New Girl Valentine's Day episode. My favorite part was when Jess greeted Shmidt, "Happy V-day, Playa." After lunch and what not, I helped Jon by coding and revamping the Official Tumblr Car Crew tumblr. Took me a few hours to iron out the kinks, but finally finished in time for come cuddling :)
Thursday was a little bit uneventful. I mean, besides the fact that Pure Cardio wasn't as disappointing as I thought, I let myself have a 6" turkey breast sandwich from Subway.
On Friday morning, Jon and I had a little fuss. Nonetheless, we worked things out and he came with me to CSUN to pay for my tuition. Sigh. $1,081 out of my pocket. I decided to take us to California Teriyaki Bowl and Sushi to fulfill my Cali roll craving while Jon was fulfilling his Jamba Juice banana berry craving. I ended up having a headache the rest of the day but tried to just chill.
Today, after sleeping in some, I got up, ready, and rolled to Jon's house. He had this guy buying his Jimmy Up seat come straight to his house so he wouldn't have to install it in a public place. Awkward, right? Yeah, well the worst part about it was that the dude's girlfriend was talking shit about Jon, but since I was upstairs, I didn't know about it until they left. Boy, was I pissed. Seriously, from what Jon said, she was talking shit about how Jon had no idea what he was doing. 1) Homegirl, can you do a better job? YEAH THEN SHUT THE FUCK UP. 2) If you have a problem, say it to his face. Don't mumble under your breath, you coward. 3) You're a ratchet wearing a long sleeve shirt, pants, and knee high boots. I'm pretty sure it was 70° outside. /endrant. After all of that, Jon treated me to pho at Good Pho You <3 We hung out the rest of the day like it was no big deal. Anyway, here are our outfit pictures. Can I just mention that I can't get over how handsome Jon looks? *swoon*

My heels are high, my eyes cast low, and I don't know how to love
We spent our first Valentine's day together today...and just thinking about this is bringing tears to my eyes. You're breathing heavily—sleeping over the phone—after our day, and everything just feels so right.
After my work out, I stepped into a cold shower. When I got out, I received a missed call and a text from you telling me to meet you after class so we can go on a date. We'd just argued a few days before but I felt giddy inside. Still undressed, I grab the huge 3' x 1.5' card I bought you back in early January and start writing in it, even though I had to leave in 15 minutes to head to class. Three-fourths through, I decide to finish it later and I get dressed. I can't forget to mention that as I began to write it, I started to cry. We've just gotten so far.
On my way to school, I decide to stop by A Sweet Design to pick up a couple cupcakes—although, I left with twice as many. I manage to make it to class only six minutes late and I make it through the lecture by watching the French Bulldog competition of the Westminster Dog Show 2012.
I finally get out of class and I walk to my car. When I get in, I realize that I need to finish the card, so I do. Finally, I'm passing stoplight after stoplight to get to your house. Thinking about this now, I don't even remember driving to your house from school. By the time I get there, as usual, you hear my car park and when I'm getting out of my car, you're already pulling yours out so we can get going on our "little surprise date." So I hide the cupcakes and Samoas in my trunk and I walk towards your car. You kiss me on the forehead because you noticed my red lips (even though I tried my best to wipe some of it off).
We run a few errands first—gas up and picked up some boxes from the Post Office—and we're on our way to wherever we're going. Our first (and only stop) was Cupid's Hot Dogs, because neither of us had lunch yet. I'd seen it when passing CSUN to the parking lot but didn't catch the stand as anything significant. I had the "everything" dog which had chili, onions, and mustard, and I added cheese. Damn, was that hot dog amazing. You had a regular hot dog with ketchup, mustard, and onions. You decided to split another one with me, although, I couldn't finish my half so you finished it for me.
Originally, you had Pinkberry in mind for dessert—well actually, it was your initial plan, but we stopped by Cupid's since we were hungry, heh!—but I coaxed you into waiting for my semi-surprise for cupcakes. It was a good call to tell you I bought us cupcakes because we thoroughly enjoyed them after we got home.
When we got home, I picked up your gifts from my card. The look on your face when I handed you that card was adorable! We walked inside and I sat on the couch in the living room while you stood up and opened your card. I gave you a few minutes to read the card when you thought you finished but I pointed out the bottom memo (which you obviously failed to notice). As you read it, I took the Girl Scout Samoa cookies out of my purse—your favorite Girl Scout Cookie. We embraced each other and sat in silence for a few minutes, just enjoying each other's company. The rest of the day spent reflected this...
Love always,
PS, this is what I wore today on our date.
I wish we took a "couple" WDYWT though...

OMG WHAT THE HUNGER GAMES!?
Yup. I am obsessed. More obsessed than some people were when Twilight was becoming popular. I literally read the entire trilogy in less than a week (six days to be exact, but I could have finished it in five if I wasn't tired from driving between LA and San Diego). Author Suzanne Collins is brilliant for writing such an "epic" trilogy and I loved every single book. I have to be honest, but I didn't start reading the books until after I heard about the movie and people talking about it.
I one day was about to drive home to San Diego, picked up my nook, and randomly decided to buy the first book, The Hunger Games. I finished the book, cover to cover, in two days then immediately downloaded Catching Fire. Then Mockingjay. Every page turn—or finger swipe...technology...—I fell deeper in love with the story and was so sad to finish the last page of Mockingjay. So upon completion, I decided to check out the cast list and compare who I thought would be perfect and who the director chose.
Ugh, was I in for some disappointment.
Katniss Everdeen. How do I begin to explain this fiery mockingjay. She's fierce, unstable, but very selfish in the same way that she's selfless under the circumstances she's thrown in. In the movie, she'll be played by Jennifer Lawrence.
I'm not in love with Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen because of her role in X-Men First Class. But, she does look better as a skinnier brunette—as opposed to Raven/Mystique. While reading the trilogy, I always thought of Annie Clark (Fiona, from Degrassi circa 2010ish). It might be because of her unstable character in Degrassi (after all, who wasn't), but I loved her pale skin and brown hair. She also seemed a little more suitable because really, she didn't come from being blonde.

I also imagined a lot of the characters in The Hungers Games to not be so...gorgeous. Kind of like in Twilight. Not everyone is gorgeous. Sorta. I expected everyone (except those from the Capitol, of course) to be more ordinary looking, like in Twilight. Like Liam Hemsworth as Gale? I loved Gale in The Hunger Games and thought of him to be attractive, but not gorgeous. I can't think of anyone to play a better Gale, but until then, I'm not satisfied. He just doesn't look protective or serious or like a hunter that Gale is supposed to be. He's too pretty to be Gale—kind of what I almost though Finnick was going to look like.
At first, I really almost despised Josh Hutcherson as Peeta. Peeta, the bakers son who never even became significant in Katniss' life until the tribute ceremony, the one who continued to love Katniss no matter how corrupt things became. All of the past contexts of Hutcherson's past productions (i.e., Little Manhattan) made me wish Peeta was played by a different actor...until I ran into some of the Hunger Games tumblrs. *looking for a picture of Josh Hutcherson...SWOON* unffffffffffffffffff

Oh Josh. I die.
As far as President Snow, I always pictured him as Michael Sheen because of his character in Twilight, Aro, the leader of the Volturi. His dark hair mixed with his pale white skin and blood lust translated to the juxtaposition of President Snow's white rose and bloody lips seemed on point. Not Donald Sutherland. He seriously looks like he came out of the wild west and is someone's grandfather. He looks a tad bit spiteful, but not as numbingly malicious as Sheen in Twilight. I also didn't expect President Snow to be so old. Maybe I missed that detail...

Finally, Cinna. I loved him in The Hunger Games but was a little disheartened to find out that he was going to be portrayed by Lenny Kravitz. Watching the trailer, I just didn't see the connection between him and Jennifer Lawrence (Katniss). If I could have my way, I totally would have called Stanley Tucci and made him Cinna immediately. Throughout the entire trilogy, I pictured Cinna as Tucci, not as fucking Caesar Flickerman, damnit! Based on his character in The Devil Wears Prada, I thought Tucci was perfect for Cinna. His similar character in Julie & Julie was so comforting to mirror as Cinna in The Hunger Games.
I'm a little disappointed to say the least, but maybe Lenny Kravitz will prove me otherwise.
Haymitch Abernathy played by Woody Harrelson is perfect. Based on the trailer, he didn't look scruffy enough, but it is what it is.
The other actors for the rest of the characters I'm satisfied with. Now, I'm just waiting for the day The Hunger Games is released in theaters. I will probably buy a mockingjay pin (via eBay) or a Hunger Games t-shirt (via Hot Topic), but I'm definitely looking for the pin.
Until then, I'll either reread the series or stay as far away from the books as possibly to heighten my anticipation. Either way, I'll be attending the opening night with a pack of tissues.
May the odds be ever in your favor,
