LA Date with my love

I am love, love, LOVING my summer thus far. I finally finished general chemistry and began my summer in Northridge the day after finishing. I decided to take Thursday off and just chill instead of leaving for Northridge right away. To be honest, chemistry was so freakin hard at UCR. Not only that, but it was condensed in half. Whatever. I drove Jill and I to LA on Friday afternoon. I dropped her off in Eagle Rock then made a B line to Jon's. We chilled the rest of the day but decided to have a date all over LA the next day.

We had breakfast and lunch at home. Then we got up and ready and headed to Sprinkles Beverly Hills. Ugh, so fun visiting BH! I wish I got to see my friend, Kristin, at Sprinkles but the timing just wasn't right. Nonetheless, I got scoop of red velvet ice cream in a red velvet ice cream cone. So. Yumz.

Menu! It included ice cream sandwiched in between two cupcake tops, various ice cream flavors in cones or in a cup topped with cupcake crumbles, etc. So. Delicious.
The ice cream counter. So creative and minimalistic, I love it. It showed off the cups and toppings.
Modestly shown happiness despite Heaven sitting directly in my hands at this moment.
Ain't he a cutie...... :)

After BH, we were going to visit K-Town to retrace some of Jon's old roots but decided to leave a with a raincheck for another time. Instead we went home. I soaked for a bit. After a few hours we decided to go out again and have dinner at Umami Burger. Can you say "Foodventure Day?!" We changed clothes and dressed down some since we were going into Burbank/Studio City for umami eats. We decided to head to the closest location to us—Umami Burger: Burbank.

Upon arrival, it was lovely. I think we got there just before 6pm and was seated immediately. The surrounding homes were adorable too...And pretty. The weather was perfect too. Anyway. The menu was short, simple, and to the point. I must say, there were no substitutions as these combinations for their burgers were specifically created to stimulate that fifth taste bud called "umami." Thus, Umami Burger was born. Lol. After deliberation, Jon was absolutely set on the original burger with thin crispy fries. I felt sure about the truffle burger with sweet potato fries.

Ugh I could jizz in my undies rn. The burgers were so delicious. They were decently portioned with fries on the side but I was definitely full. The truffle burger was amaze but I think I was too ambitious with that one! It was incredibly rich and I stuffed myself with it. But it was so rich I probably could have stopped halfway and been more than satisfied. On the other hand, Jon loved his burger. I'm sure that if he had the choice, he probably would've named it the Perfect Burger instead of the original.

There were other sides to choose from other than fries, like tempura battered onion rings and cheesy tots....I'm getting hungry thinking about all of this. UGH. The atmosphere was great. It was like a modern retro feel. Idek, but I thought it was so cute that their sodas came from a glass bottles. I want to try one of their Umami Dogs in the future but this definitely won't be my last time visiting Umami Burger!

Three sauces to choose from: a truffle sometime, garlic aioli, and housemade ketchup. The ketchup is THE BEST. You can seriously taste the tomatoes. Amaze, I tell yah.

After dinner, we finally headed home to chill. I actually don't remember what happened afterwards due to a heavy food coma and a satisfied stomach but all I know was that I didn't work out the day after. LOL.

More to come within the next few days about how I've been spending my summer now that I have the leisure time.
